Darcy is the only Democratic candidate for the 8th Congressional District seat in Washington, currently occupied by Dave Reichert. She came by tonight's gathering to remind us of the importance of this race and ask for our help in getting that message out to our various audiences and friends. As I have said before, the Dems only need 15 seats to take back the House of Representatives and Washington's 8th District (the Eastside and some parts of South King County) is a prime opportunity, having previously given John Kerry and other Democrats more votes than their opponents. I don't know Darcy well, but she seems to be running a strong campaign and made a good impression tonight.
Update: "Two More Candidates in 8th Congressional Race" from Washblog brings us the latest news on the race to win this seat for the Dems. Previously, "Randy Gordon: Personal Ambition Took a Back Seat to Democratic Unity" on the same site, discussed the reasons for his decision to withdraw and some reactions to it.
