''War protest, rally today''

"War protesters have planned a rally and march today in Seattle to coincide with similar actions across the country. The local demonstration is planned to start at noon at Westlake Park, Fourth Avenue and Pine Street. The march begins at 1:30 p.m., heading from Pine to Second Avenue, Second to Marion Street, Marion to Fourth Avenue and back to Westlake at 2:30 p.m. There will be a concluding rally at Westlake after the march. A feeder march was scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. from Seattle Central Community College, joining up with the group downtown. In addition to opposing the war in Iraq, protesters will march for other causes, such as opposition to military recruiters in schools, the U.S. presence in some other countries, and attacks on civil liberties. For more information, see the Web site http://www.answerseattle.org/ -from the P-I story this morning. The Seattle Times, apparently, decided this event was not newsworthy.
