''Past Pessimism''

Subtitle: "Come on, liberals. Stop whining. It’s the last thing the party needs." Matthew Yglesias, writing on The American Prospect Online, discusses the current propects of the Democratic party and how some are saying Howard Dean can be most effective "playing a larger public role." There are numerous links to others on this subject in a post by Ezra Klein, "Bad Matt, Bad Dean," that Yglesias disputes. Klein argues that Dean should be positioned "out in front" as a media spokesperson, and not just function as a behind-the-scenes party builder. Lots of meaty comments there, as well.
