"CLINTON SURROGATE COMPARES OBAMA AD TO NAZI MARCH [UPDATED]" (with an apology).
Hillary Clinton made a point of stressing respect for Obama at Thursday night's debate. It is a shame that she is actually running a campaign that repeatedly smears him and disrespects the voters' ability to see through the facade. From Joe Conason:
"Step Back, Mr. Clinton":
The most likely motive for Bill Clinton’s reckless political performance in recent weeks, ironically and sadly, is to redress the terrible humiliations he inflicted on his wife in years past. But unless he quickly regains control of himself, the most likely result will be to inflict irreparable damage on the presidential aspirations of Hillary Rodham Clinton. From The Caucus, NY Times political blog, "The Week That Keeps On Going":
Well, another passion of Senator Kennedy’s life — or at least another legislative mission — has been the No Child Left Behind Act which he championed alongside Republicans and President Bush.Howie P.S.: "Oops, they did it again."---It is sad and painful to watch the Clintons as they struggle though a tough campaign stretch.
And out comes the supposedly newly muzzled former president-spouse, after a host of controversial remarks in South Carolina, California and Nevada that many believe hurt his wife’s campaign, at an appearance as he criss-crosses the country these next several days on behalf of his wife:
From MSNBC’s First Read, Mr. Clinton today called that legislation a “train wreck,” and invoked Senator Kennedy’s name. Now, much criticism has been heaped on that education initiative for being under-financed, based on teaching-to-the-test and just a mess of regulations that aren’t all-inspiring for the children, for the next-generation.
Now, he concedes mistakes were made on both sides. But invoking Senator Kennedy specifically by name? Accident? Uh, probably not.
Barack Obama
