10 year-old student journalist Damon Weaver has already talked with "My Homeboy" Joe Biden, but with the gift of inaugural tickets from his congressman and $8,000 in donations sending him to DC, he hopes to interview Barack Obama and is continuing his media push to help his cause.Howie P.S.: I've been reading a novel, "The Known World," that "paints an enormous canvas thick with personalities and situations that show how slavery destroys but can also be transcended."
He's made a pitch video, included in the clip below, and went on MSNBC Friday with his teacher to talk about why he wants to talk to the President Elect.
Asked his feelings about Obama, Weaver said, "I'm very excited because he's the first black African-American president in the history for America."
He added that his fellow students in Florida want him to land the interview and are "very excited to see the first black president in the chair."
I started posting on HowieinSeattle in 11/04, following progressive American politics in the spirit of Howard Dean's effort to "Take Our Country Back." I decided to follow my heart and posted on seattleforbarackobama from 2/07 to 11/08.--"Howie Martin is the Abe Linkin' of progressive Seattle."--Michael Hood.
