The former Louisiana Democratic Party chairman recently completed a month-long stint in the nation's capital as part of the transition team for new Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean. The duty involved meeting with Democratic state party chairpeople, governors and mayors as part of Dean's plan to rebuild the Democratic Party from the ground up.
