Bush's Brain: Perjury or Obstruction of Justice?

James Moore, the author of the book "Bush's Brain" was interviewed on this morning's Air America show "Morning Sedition." He said Karl Rove's legal problems may come from his yet unreleased testimony to the grand jury investigating the leak. According to Moore, Rove testified there that he had no contacts with any reporter on this matter, a message his lawyer was repeating just weeks ago. The Newsweek story about Rove's conversation with Matt Cooper of Time magazine challenges this. For this reason, Moore says, the grand jury is now seeking Cooper's testimony. Update: Political Wire lays out another wrinkle in the story: "At a press briefing on September 29, 2003, White House press secretary Scott McClellan insisted President Bush knew that Karl Rove wasn't involved in talking to reporters about Valerie Plame. Now, based on Matt Cooper's newly-disclosed emails, we know Rove was talking to at least one reporter. So the question becomes: What did the president know and when did he know it?" Update: RAW STORY has excerpts of today's press conference: "TRANSCRIPT: WHITE HOUSE GRILLED ON ROVE..."
