"NBC News announced Thursday that it is launching a "Blogging Baghdad" platform Dec. 5 that will expand its coverage of the situation in Iraq. Available on MSNBC.com, "Blogging Baghdad" will feature additional reporting from the network's team of correspondents led by Richard Engel, video clips and video blogs from members of the network's Baghdad bureau.
NBC News President Steve Capus described the new site as "a unique means of storytelling and further transparency in our reporting."
Mr. Engel said, "On a day-to-day basis, there is so much news coming out of Baghdad, and not all of it makes air. Blogging is a great way to report anecdotes, impressions and experiences that might not develop into full-blown stories but are nonetheless terribly revealing about the situation in here in Iraq."-from TV Week via mediachannel.org.
