Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards will return to Washington on Sept. 19th for what his campaign co-chair Jenny Durkan describes as a "quick afternoon/p.m. visit."
The former North Carolina senator, and his wife Elizabeth, have courted the state continuously over the last three years. Edwards was here last spring, addressing an AFL-CIO town meeting and speaking to a dinner of the Washington State Trial Lawyers. Elizabeth Edwards was here for a summer fundraiser.
The Edwards stopover will precede an early October visit -- date not yet set -- by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-New York.
I started posting on HowieinSeattle in 11/04, following progressive American politics in the spirit of Howard Dean's effort to "Take Our Country Back." I decided to follow my heart and posted on seattleforbarackobama from 2/07 to 11/08.--"Howie Martin is the Abe Linkin' of progressive Seattle."--Michael Hood.
