The American Civil Liberties Union supports marijuana legalization. But they don't support an effort to get a marijuana legalization initiative on fall ballot. Why not? The ACLU won't talk about it, but we get a response from the initiative's campaign director. Philip Dawdy is campaign director and coauthor of Initiative 1068, a measure that would legalize marijuana for adults in Washington state.
