All Things Considered, November 21, 2007 · With the presidential primaries now just weeks away, it's almost prime time for rich, independent groups to start targeting various candidates.
Their model is a TV ad that caused problems for Howard Dean just before the Iowa caucuses in 2004.
New regulations adopted this week make it easier for the groups to tap corporate and union money.
