Archive available at 11:05 a.m. The FCC is holding a major public meeting in Seattle on Friday that will help determine the future of media ownership in the United States. Current FCC rules govern how many media outlets a single company can control – but some media companies would like to see those rules relaxed. Others – like publisher Frank Blethen's Seattle Times – say relaxing the rules would limit diversity and undermine localism.
