AP via C-SPAN:President Obama will deliver a prime-time speech this evening at 8pm EST. on the withdrawal of some U.S. troops in Afghanistan. At a White House press briefing Tuesday, Spokesperson Jay Carney said the President informed his national security advisors Tuesday morning which plan he will follow.
Media reports indicate that he is expected to announce the reduction of 10,000 troops by the end of this year and the rest of the 33,000 troops associated with the “surge” withdrawn by the end of August 2012. MORE...
