Howie P.S.: Steve Scher pushes back at times, which is refreshing. H/t to Peter Ray.
In 2008 David Plouffe was the campaign manager who led then-Senator Barack Obama to the presidency. The campaign used a grassroots strategy and dreamed of a bipartisan country. Now the midterm elections are approaching and President Obama's approval rating has sunk to the low 40s. The grassroots strategy has been adopted by a new far-right political group, the Tea Party, and both Republicans and Democrats seem more interested in mud-slinging than campaigning on a platform of bipartisanship. Today we'll talk to David Plouffe about his book "The Audacity to Win: The Inside Story and Lessons of Barack Obama's Historic Victory."
