"This is not the end, but a new beginning…" (with video)

Lynn Allen has a nice roundup of some local bloggers' comments on Darcy Burner's campaign and a report on her "concession" event yesterday. The only thing missing was Darcy's announcement that she is taking her young child to Disneyland this week, as promised.

This morning the Bothell Times gives us a picture of Darcy and Lynn hugging as well as this quote from Darcy:

"It was certainly the case that the Republicans threw everything they had into keeping this seat: $6 million in Republican expenditures, the president, the vice president, the speaker of the House, the first lady, Newt Gingrich, Karl Rove. And with that, they barely kept it," she said.

And Jim McDermott had this to say:

"He's in a swing district, and he got re-elected on one vote, for ANWR," he said, referring to Reichert's vote against oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. "That convinced people that he was independent of the White House."
