The more I think about it, the election story out of Ohio reflects the problems our society has acknowledging people of color as full citizens. I can see a repeat of the scene in Fahrenheit 911 where Congress ignores the evidence of voter suppression and "irregularities" in precincts where the majority of voters are people of color. This piece by Greg Moses, editor of the Texas Civil Rights Review, is a very good analysis of the situation.
