"Demand transparency in Wall Street reform"

Now that the House and the Senate have passed versions of financial reform legislation, the fate of Wall Street reform is in the hands of members of the conference committee that will merge the two versions into a final package.

If members of the conference committee can cut deals behind closed doors, free from public scrutiny, the resulting legislation will be pathetically weak.

That is why CREDO, Open Left and the Campaign for America's Future are joining MoveOn in calling for full transparency in the conference committee.

Tell Congress to broadcast the proceedings on C-SPAN and to put the text of the bill online well in advance of the vote. MORE...
